Edward F. Hayes Graduate Research Forum

Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentation and Poster

All applicants who select “oral presentation and poster” at the time of their abstract submission are indicating that they will perform a traditional presentation of their research and also participate in the poster competition. If your abstract is deemed worthy of presentation by the judges, you will be evaluated in a competition based upon the quality of your paper and presentation. Your poster will be judged in a separate competition. All winners of the competition may be asked to put their poster on display at the Ohio Statehouse for display to Ohio’s legislators.

Performance with Q&A

All applicants who select “performance with Q&A” at the time of their abstract submission are indicating that they will make a performance in the time allotted (such as a dance, theatrical demonstration, etc.). Following the performance, the performer will need to be prepared to address questions and answers from the judges and other members of the audience. Performers are eligible to participate in the poster competition as well; however, this is optional.

Oral Presentation Only

All applicants who select "oral presentation only" at the time of their abstract submission are indicating that they will perform a traditional presentation of their research. If your abstract is deemed worthy of presentation by the judges, you will be evaluated in a competition based upon the quality of your paper and presentation. No poster is necessary for competing in the Hayes Forum. Should you be a winner in your discipline, you will be provided with support to display your work as a poster for display at the Ohio Statehouse.
